Counter Sales Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Counter Sales Representative. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing sales transactions, answering phone calls and monitor inventory and restock products as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Entails over-the-counter sales of parts, services, and special orders for walk-in or call-in customers.
· Maintain a clean work environment not limited to showroom and stock room.
· Willing to participate in all training programs and keep current on new product updates.
· Help customers make selections by possessing excellent product and equipment knowledge, offering suggestions to inform and increase sales.
· Maintain excellent customer relationships through conflict.
· Support outside sales staff, entering orders, pulling orders, checking inventory.
· Pricing, maintaining quotes, processing payments and filling orders and invoices through our sales software.
· Use electronic and published catalogs to provide product, pricing, and availability information to customers on multiple product lines.
· Understand terms and conditions of sales and the extent of liability and responsibility.
· Monitor inventory levels and restock merchandise as needed.
· Collaborate with employees in other departments.
· Report back orders and/or material discrepancies.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Specification
· Able to work in a fast-paced, self-disciplined environment, managing his/her time and workflow.
· Ability to receive customers, establish rapport, and determine and attend to customers needs.
· Able to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities while being adaptable.
· Problem resolution and creative thinking skills, conflict management skills preferred.
· Excellent numerical, and organizational skills (able to handle phone calls while inputting orders)
· Proficient level computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
· Exception verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to search part numbers or use the computer and standard catalogs.
· A minimum of two years’ experience in customer service and/or sales
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Experience with parts sales preferred.
· Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is regularly required to lift anywhere from 25 – 50 lbs.
